The transition to a Regenerative Aotearoa New Zealand requires us to view the economic system in a different way.

Ka nui te mihi to our wonderful panellists, Ben Kepes, Katherine Snook, Raf Manji, and Te Pūoho Katene for a thought-provoking and engaging panel conversation in Ōtautahi Christchurch at the start of August.

Moderated by Ākina Chief Executive, Nicola Nation, panellists discussed what was required to shift the dial towards a Regenerative Economy. Topics flowed from what a regenerative economy looked like, Kūmara economics, whether it was possible to grow pūtea while delivering social outcomes, and what local governments could be doing differently.

We have no time to lose. Our future generations deserve Good Ancestors.

Amidst controversial beliefs on which brand of peanut butter belongs on toast, this kaupapa weighs heavily and demands action from all of us. We departed with an ignited spark, determined to hold ourselves more accountable for the sake of future generations. As Ākina Trustee Te Pūoho Katene aptly stated, “We have no time to lose. Our future generations deserve Good Ancestors.”

Ngā mihi nui to the team at Pegasus Health for their manaakitanga when hosting us, and to our guests who took time out of their busy lives to attend this.
