A growing number of buying organisations want to use their spending power for good - but they don’t know what’s real impact, or what’s impact-washing.
Social procurement is a term used when a buying organisation wants to create additional positive social or environmental outcomes when buying their goods and services. It’s a growing movement and SMEs and supplying organisations are responding by becoming purpose-led.
The problem is - buying organisations don’t have the experience to know how to assess real positive impact and if it’s making the difference they want to see. A lot of purpose led businesses are also SME’s and are just beginning their procurement journey. That’s where the Ākina Impact Supplier certification comes in.
Do Good Group to provide continued visibility for the Ākina Foundation’s Impact Suppliers
As the Ākina Foundation closes its doors, we are happy to announce that the Impact Directory will have a new home with the Do Good Group.
The Do Good Group currently runs Do Good Jobs, a job board that connects Kiwis with strong social and environmental values with organisations looking for values-aligned staff.
The Impact Directory, which connects ethical buyers with organisations that promote positive social, environmental, and cultural outcomes, is the perfect extension of that mahi.
Do Good Jobs has itself been a member of the Directory for several years and deeply understands the importance of being a socially and environmentally responsible business. We are confident that the Do Good Group will continue to offer excellent visibility for organisations working to make a positive impact and bring a new audience to all Impact Suppliers.
You can find the new Impact Directory here.
