Rotary Kickstart Award Winners

Ākina wishes to thank the Rotary Clubs of Newmarket and Wellington for again funding the $20,000 Social Enterprise Kickstart Programme. With some truly inspirational organisations any of the 8 Finalists would have made deserving winners!

The format this year shifted online and became a trial for a national award. We welcomed a variety of enterprises, all delivering positive impact across a number of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Trackd

We are thrilled to announce the winner of the $10,000 award this year is Trackd.

Trackd is an online platform for parents, carers and whānau to manage their children's disability and long term care, appointments and therapies all in one place; as well as share and connect with their clinicians and care team.

Trackd Founder Emma Scoringe and family

“To say I'm stoked is an understatement. I'm very humbled to have won amongst such a stellar calibre of finalists and hope to be able to support them in the future. This grant allows a working prototype for Trackd to be built to start effecting change for parents, carers and whānau of disabled children.”

Good Sort

The runner up and recipient of $5,000 was Good Sort

With the growing importance of social good in Aotearoa, a purpose-built solution is needed to connect charities with volunteers, and ensure the ‘talk’ of charitable involvement is directly backed by the ‘walk’ of boots on the ground. The GoodSort app will revolutionise the volunteer economy in Aotearoa by resolving these issues, through role-matching function activity-accreditation.

The final award was split, with both Awhi Analytics and Te Tuhi Cafe receiving $2,500 each.

Awhi Analytics

Awhi Analytics provides organisations who work with rangatahi real-time youth wellbeing data, and social impact reporting. We gather this information using the Awhi app, a peer support app that encourages daily reflection and helps rangatahi build self awareness through practicing emotional differentiation.

TeTuhi Training Cafe

TeTuhi training cafe is a partnership between Rescare Homes Trust, Te Tuhi Contemporary Art Trust and the University of Auckland. Together they have established Aotearoa New Zealand’s first training cafe for people with intellectual disabilities within Te Tuhi art gallery and community centre in Pakuranga, Tāmaki Makaurau.

The other finalists this year were Ārāma Charitable Trust, InsightOut, The Eco Kiwi and Wā Kai NZ.

Thanks to Rotary Club of Wellington, and Rotary Newmarket for their support
