Ākina has desks available for rent in its’ cosy yet industrial Central Wellington office.

About the space:

  • Sharing the space with the Wellington-based Ākina team, and the good folks from Supergood.

  • Non-Gendered bathrooms.

  • Reusabowls and again again cups.

  • Heat pump, automatic skylights and blinds.

  • Large bookable meeting room with whiteboards and conferencing set-up, good for mid-sized workshops.

  • Locker bank to store your things for our clean desk policy.

  • Kawhe and tī provided in line with Ākina’s Social procurement policy (we always consider social procurement options and procure from social enterprises and impact enterprises where possible). Access to the shared kitchen coffee machine too.

  • Option to use standing desks (one available).

  • Music in the office and we don’t mind if you take calls at your desk.

Location / getting there & accessibility

  • Accessibility: office space is only accessible by stairs.

  • Great central location at 26 Egmont St, Te Aro, Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington.

  • Closest bus stop - Manners street or Courtenay Place.

  • Garage storage for your bike.

  • Shared kitchen facilities with dishwasher, microwave, fridge etc.

  • Nearby gyms for a lunchtime session, and a shower on site available for use.

  • Close to great cafes, bars and restaurants (Customs, Swimsuit, Sixes and Sevens, Lunch Money, August Eatery and Shelly Bay on Leeds St to name a few).

Pricing

We have a range of pricing tiers available

  • Permanent desk: $450 +GST per month

  • 4 day hot desk: $325+GST per month

  • 2-3 day hot desk: $250 +GST per month

FAQs

Do you offer trials of the space?

This is not something we currently offer from a security point of view.

Can I use the monitors?

Most of the desks in the space have a monitor with adaptors that hot deskers and permanent desk renters are able to use.

What are the payment terms?

Payment is required for the month in advance, invoices get sent at the end of the month with 20th of the following month payment terms. Pro-rata calculations will be applied depending on when you start.

Ākina requires one months written notice for any lease termination.

Is there parking?

No, however there are plenty of parking buildings nearby (and the bus stops right around the corner on Ghuznee Street and Manners Street.

Is the space pet friendly

No, sorry!
